I shaped this cup from sandy stoneware clay and glazed it by hand with several glazes, including wood ash. i had no idea what would come of it, but when i held the finished piece in my hands, it felt like a whole geological landscape had opened up – that's how the name came to be. i love how the interplay of glazes creates this playfulness and complexity.

it holds ≈ 100-110ml
