this cup is made from black stoneware and coated with a deep black glaze inside with occasional green hues reminiscent of the shadowed layers of a mossy forest soil. 
 
the outside is left unglazed revealing the natural beauty of clay, reminiscent of volcanic sand and cooled lava – it has small stones, so i carve it slightly by hand to bring out an rawer texture that feels alive and grounding to the touch.
