i shaped this small cacao cup from black stoneware clay and carved the surface by hand, inspired by the ridges and organic texture of the cacao fruit.
glazed with pure wood ash, the surface develops a deep charcoal tone with subtle variations that emerge in the light. at around 100 ml, the cup is designed for a more ceremonial style of cacao – holding smaller, concentrated servings.
 
due to the handmade nature, cacao vessels may slightly vary in size, shape, and glaze.
