shaped from dark stoneware clay and glazed entirely with wood ash, the ritual bowl has a deep, matte surface reminiscent of charcoal, volcanic ground, and cooled lava sand. rough and mineral to the touch, it feels grounding and raw. while waterproof, this bowl is not intended for food use. it has a wild and porous inside texture that absorbs smells and is hard to clean. the bowl is intended as a ritual piece – for burning, holding, or storing meaningful elements. i created this bowl through an ancient way of handling ceramics: raw wood-ash glazing. i apply wood ash directly onto the unfired clay, so that glaze and clay meet before the first firing and enter the kiln together — one firing, no bisque stage. in the heat, wood ash melts and merges with the clay, forming natural, earthy, one-of-a-kind surfaces. 𓂃 this is a single piece, the only one of its kind 𓂃 holds about 500ml
