vase from the ‘taksu’ collection

shaped during a month-long residency in bali, a time of deep creative exploration guided by the island’s rhythm and beauty.
‘taksu’ is a Balinese word for sacred creative presence — a quiet force that lives in people, places, and objects.
 
i created this vase on the turning wheel using stoneware clay from Jawa. its textured is carved by hand.
the vase has no glaze and all the shades of brown is are beautiful and unique touches of flames in a gas kiln.

the vase is fully unglazed and perfect as a standalone piece or with some dry twigs / flowers.
