inspired by dunes, i crafted this chawan from sandy stoneware clay, leaving its surface partially unglazed so that clay can speak its beauty to you. the raw texture invites deeper presence through touch and carries the grounding spirit of earth into your ritual.
for the coating i created a glaze based on wood ash that i collected during my hibernation in Portugal last winter ࿓ it runs, it dances, it crystallises on the bowl's surface, creating unique and mesmerising look. the bowl is smooth inside for a pleasurable whisking of matcha.
